“I Had a Rough Night and I Hate the Fuckin’ Eagles” is a compilation album made up of covers of songs found on the soundtracks of movies directed by the Coen Brothers. Fearsome Critters founder Chris Turpen was inspired to put this together by a similar compilation album that came across his desk when he worked at a college radio station more than a decade ago. It was called “I Saved Latin! A Tribute to Wes Anderson” and contained songs from Wes Anderson soundtracks performed by up-and-coming and indie artists. Thinking this format could use another entry with different directors, he opted to put this together by combining the directors of some of his favorite films with a handful of talented musicians he knew. The result is this 11 song album that serves as a fun experiment to launch this record label, and hopefully in the future will be the first installment in a series of soundtrack compilations. Carissa Eckle is a singer, frontwoman, and songwriter based in Austin, TX. Spending most of her time with her all-girl indie-pop band, BOO85, solo-singing and songwriting are somewhat rare; however, it’s something she would like to branch out more into in 2026. Growing up in a small town in North Texas, she moved to Austin in 2017, and her world of music expanded tenfold. She always knew she wanted to pursue music in some manner, but living in Austin has allowed her many opportunities, and is where she met a community of creatives in the local music scene, including Chris Turpen, of Fearsome Critters Records. Carissa is currently writing music and performing with her band, but stay tuned for more solo content in the future!

Patric Tester is a musician working out of Austin, Texas. Most of his time is spent either reckoning with the futility of mortality or creating silly voices for his dog, Earl. His songs are mostly written in sad metaphor. He would absolutely join your metal band.

Keith “Big Keith” Reynolds likes to play piano, make jewelry, commit crimes, and spread joy like Miracle Whip. For more info, go to KeithReynoldsWorld.com.

Chris Turpen is a singer songwriter from Seattle, Washington. Deeply steeped in the alt-folk scene of the Pacific Northwest, a decade living in Texas has thoroughly infused classic country and psychedelic sounds into his musical persona.

SRY got drunk once at the beginning of covid lockdowns and decided sending raps to the group chat would be a fun entertaining outlet for all parties. It spiraled out of control and now this, the first (and likely last) publicly available recording, exists. All he can say is that he apologizes.

The Coffin Fits were and sometimes still are a vaguely psychedelic diet-goth garage rock band from Austin, Texas. Though no longer a live performing entity they still release stuff from time to time, especially around Halloween.

Girl socks was formed in name only back in the tumblr days of the 20teens, while Chris and Lindsay of the Coffin Fits were art school college radio deejays. Fast forward 10 years and now they are married and making soft sounds together

Ennui Matisse drifts between genres the way radio stations fizzle in and out as you cross state lines. He currently finds himself trapped between Soviet-era electronic music and Italo-disco with no intention of finding his way out.

Toodle Lou is the solo artist name for Lindsay of Coffin Fits and Girl Socks, inspired by her nickname “Lindsay Lou” and by the always stylish Toodles Galore from Tom and Jerry, whom she has tattooed on her upper arm.

Jakeb White is from Austin, Texas, and he makes music. He is most famous for writing "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" in 1965.

Ross Trent is a computer programmer in Chicago who can’t help but daydream of the Caribbean’s warmth and rhythms. He may be in the Midwest physically, but spiritually he’s at a swim up bar in the Bahamas and sonically he is the Happy Hour menu at a Margaritaville.
